Apparently I'm the only one watching this game on here. I'm disappointed in you Randy!

No, I'm watching it. The last game thread I started was Okie State and you see how that went...
Sat., Nov. 12 at Texas: This is perhaps the toughest game for me to predict. Texas will most likely be playing a Freshman QB by the time we head to Austin and he will have already run a pretty formidable schedule by then as well. They have two stud running backs who will take the pressure off of him and a defense which will be stout. Most of all, Charlie Strong is coaching for his life this season. If Texas has underachieved before now, it might be an interim coach we are facing. If they are as good as the pundits say, it will be a tough battle of ground games in this one I look for the latter and a hard fought game, going to... WVU: 31 Texas: 28

That running back fella, Don't Foreman or whatever, is pretty good at football.
This might be a good game.

Foreman is going to get his yards. As long as he only gets them "between the 20's" we will be ok.
Good defensive adjustments so far by Gibby. I like that McKoy got the start, he's the kind of back that should do well against Texas.

Tough game here. They will run the ball (Foreman is over 100 yards already). We should by all rights be up 24-13.
We get the ball to start the second half and need a good touchdown scoring drive to regain some momentum.
This is a winnable ballgame for us but we have to do a better job in the second half of finishing drives. Too many dropped passes by the receivers in the second quarter! This has to stop!
All in all, we are ahead and we get the ball...I think we win.

Driving fresh out of halftime. Going for what we need...a touchdown. Interception.
Texas now driving, seizing momentum. Stopped and going for a fieldgoal...blocked.
We now are back to all square coming out of halftime.
Time to start over and we need a TOUCHDOWN!

Ok...we get the touchdown we need. Go up 24-13.
They turn the ball over to us deep in their territory. Time now to put the pedal down and put this game away.
Wrong...
Sklyar pulls a Skylar and throws an interception. They get the ball back and the benefit of a stupid penalty and now Texas scores to make it 24-20.
If we lose this game it will be because WVU LOST IT not that Texas won it. We should be up easily 38-20
And as I type this, another Skylar interception...

This Texas team is going to be good next year, but there is no reason we shouldn't be up 2-3 touchdowns on them right now other than stupid mistakes.

They are driving, we force a fumble. Time to put this game away. A couple of first downs and then a stupid first down call, a sack on second down and now we punt back.
This is not good. Now if they can run the ball and drain the clock we could lose a game we should've had a long time ago.
Dang.

So when was the last time two top ten teams played in Morgantown?
Did it involve Rutgers?

93 vs Miami 89 vs Pitt
WVU was ranked 9th in both games. Pitt was 10, Miami 4
There were a couple of others, but they were not in Morgantown

It's happened twice...
(9) WVU 17 (4) Miami 14
(9) WVU 31 (10) Pitt 31
So we are 1-0-1 All-Time in Top 10 matchups in Morgantown

Does this mean a gameday visit?

I watched that game, and honestly, I have no Idea how we won that game. Does this mean a gameday visit? Dad (who listens to every pre and post game radio program) says that is a possibility. My thoughts are for that to happen we would both have to be Top 10 teams in the BCS rankings. Do we get enough respect this week having only beaten a 5-5 Texas team by 4 points? Does VT only move up to 13 this week since they lost to GT? Does the Fightin' Dabo's only slip to 3 with their loss to sPitt? Inquiring minds want to know...

2. Clemson, 3. Michigan, 4. Washington, 8. A&M, 9. Auburn and 14. VT all go down. It's a bad week to be a top 15 team.

A little FYI...
West Virginia has won 13 of its past 15 games, a feat that has yet to evoke much national praise. Dana Holgorsen has this program rolling, and all involved have accumulated a significant amount of confidence over the past 12 months...Here's the list of Power 5 coaches who have won at least 13 games in the past 12 months: Nick Saban, Dabo Swinney, Jim Harbaugh, Urban Meyer, Bobby Petrino and Holgorsen. The timing of Holgorsen's getting things turned around is absolutely admirable when you consider where his team was at the end of October a year ago.
