Week 3...

Week 4...
West Virginia 34, BYU 30: Quarterback Skyler Howard has his best game in a Mountaineers uniform, connecting with three different receivers -- Ka'Raun White, Gary Jennings and Shelton Gibby -- for scores while committing zero turnovers. Meanwhile, West Virginia's defense shows some of its youth, recording five sacks but also allowing three lengthy touchdowns that keep BYU within striking distance throughout.

This is so exciting - I can't wait for Randy to prognosticate us going either 14-0 to win the playoff or losing an early one we shouldn't to sharpen their focus for [insert name of title game site here]

This is so exciting - I can't wait for Randy to prognosticate us going either 14-0 to win the playoff or losing an early one we shouldn't to sharpen their focus for [insert name of title game site here] These are not my predictions. These are the ESPN "experts" predicting these games. I have my spies out right now, watching Summer Conditioning, monitoring recruiting efforts, seeing if Holgy's house is for sale, stopping from time to time to pitch Joe DeForest a nickel or two on the street corner as he panhandles for money, as well as spying on the grave of Beano Cook to get me all the information I need to properly prognosticate this years team.

Week 6...
WVU 63 Bye 0: Once again, Bye makes the long trip to Morgantown to play the Mountaineers. This time, we put the rifle squad on the field and there's no stopping them as they know how to win National Championships.

Week 7...
Texas Tech 49, West Virginia 45: The Red Raiders have the last laugh in a game of big plays and turnovers. Patrick Mahomes and Skyler Howard each pass for three touchdowns, but it is Mahomes' fourth-quarter touchdown run that decides the game. It goes down as one of the most entertaining games of the season, with the Red Raiders and Mountaineers combining for 12 offensive touchdowns, a special-teams score and seven turnovers in a crazy contest.

Week 8...
West Virginia 38, TCU 37: The Horned Frogs' unbeaten run ends at the hands of the Mountaineers, who see their youthful defense grow up in the second half, forcing three TCU turnovers. Rushel Shell and Shelton Gibby are critical playmakers in the victory, with Shell’s 101 rushing yards allowing a pair of long touchdown receptions by Gibby as West Virginia keeps TCU’s defense honest with its balance.

Week 9...
Oklahoma State 36, West Virginia 31: It looks like Oklahoma State Finau-ly has found a consistent running game as Barry J. Sanders manages to go over 125 rushing yards for the second-straight game. Sanders’ 23 carries for 154 yards includes a 75-yard gallop after the Cowboys catch West Virginia in a blitz early in the fourth quarter. A late touchdown by the Mountaineers makes this game look closer than it was after Oklahoma State controlled the game for the majority of the contest.

Week 10...
West Virginia 41, Kansas 14: The running game is the story in West Virginia’s win as three different running backs (Rushel Shell, Kennedy McKoy and Justin Crawford) each rush for more than 100 yards and one touchdown. The Mountaineers defense continues to improve, forcing a pair of turnovers and managing five sacks against Kansas.

6-2? Starting 4-0?
ESPN is really high on the Mountaineers, apparently.

Week 12...
Oklahoma 45, West Virginia 42: Simply put, the Mountaineers leave EpiPen Stadium feeling like they let an upset bid get away. Meanwhile, Oklahoma heads home with its College Football Playoff hopes intact and renewed confidence that Baker Mayfield loves to rise to his best in critical moments. Mayfield and the Sooners' get the ball with just over a minute left, trailing 42-38, and promptly cruise down the field behind their Heisman candidate. Mayfield is 3-of-4 on the game-winning drive, capped off by a 11-yard touchdown to Mark Andrews with 11 seconds remaining in the game.

Week 14...
West Virginia 34, Baylor 28: Skyler Howard, Rushel Shell and Shelton Gibby are a handful for Baylor’s defense as Howard passes for three scores, Shell rushes for a pair of touchdowns, and Gibby is on the receiving end of two of Howard’s scoring throws. Baylor’s offense struggles against an improving West Virginia defense that forces three turnovers.

So...ESPN thinks 8-4 with us finishing 4th in the conference this coming year, possible 9-4 with a bowl win.
I see Trad has started the predictions thread, I'll put my two-cents in further on down the line once my spies let me know about important things such as the over/under on Red Bulls Holgy is drinking at practice, the number of times he coughs and clears his throat during interview practice, how many different positions William Crest lines up in before we move him back to #2/emergency/QB because while he's a heckuva athlete he has the touch of John Talley in the passing game, over/under on how long Jovon Durant goes without being suspended, and whether or not Dontae Angus is related to Colonel Angus.
