...and that's steers and queers. I didn't see any horns on them basketball player's head so...?
We need to pay them back for what was arguably our worst game of the season in Morgantown.

Its hard to have call a game "must-win" ....particularly when you are having a good season, already a Lunardi "lock," and the game is on the road in the Big 12.... but, to me, this feels like a must-win game. Obviously the world won't end if we lose... but getting the season split at least takes some of the sting out of that home loss. And we need to prove that we can beat that team. We didn't turn them over... didn't seem able to get it together that whole game.
Idunno, its a bit of redemption, a bit of confidence going forward, and its staying at the top of the conference. Its also fuck texas.

I don't know if this is a must win or a seed builder. A win here and we could maybe move as high as a 2 or 3. A loss and we could drop.
I am in fuckin Pitt tonight so I am gonna eat as fast as possible and go to my room so I don't have to be around a bunch of fuckin yinzers hating on me.

Daxter's loss might actually be our gain.

Also, Paige hurt and out of the game so Daxter would actually be helpful now

Miles out. Paige out. Now we can't afford to press as hard due to possible foul difficulties. Going to be a tough row to hoe tonight. We need some production out of Meyers/Ahmad/Macon/Carter. There was a time out on the floor where Phillip was basically the only scorer on the court.
We don't match up well with Texas, but I hope we don't get run off the floor in the second half...

It is now. Made it interesting late with a 10-0 run to get within 6. Texas shot 143% from the charity stripe to seal it.

we suck again.
Honestly we were never real contenders for the Big 12 title. Hopefully Paige can come back and we don't go full swoon to end the year. Get a 6 seed or better in the NCAAs, hope we get a decent draw, pull a flukey upset and hopefully make a deepish run.

Idunno if it would be flukish... with all of the players (healthy and not on dope)able to five energy and fouls to make the system do its thing, this team could slug its way into the elite 8 or something. But one little thing is off and its a first round exit. I do think that if we get a high-ish seed, a first round exit is extremely unlikely, this is a good team, even if not great, and shouldn't have trouble against a low seed even if hobbled in some way.
We could beat OU at home. Idunno, if Paige isn't dead we could even win out. Its unlikely, I guess. But its not unreasonable to consider. Kansas is going to win the conference, either way, of course. Its in the Big XII bylaws.

I know Yogi likes tough guys who value defense, but surely amongst the millions of fine young teenage males in America he can find a set who can play consistently on both ends of the court. There has to be some hidden talents out there that don't get gobbled up by the elites he can get his hands on. Devin has spouted another extra chromosome this year, Jevon has grown a second left hand, and Paige gets hurt. When Tarik got in foul trouble there was NOTHING offensively out there. Well, our play was offensive but not the good kind. I don't think a lineup of Carter, Ahmad, Holton, Adrian, and Macon scares anybody but the hometown fans, and that's what we were stuck with in the second half for too long.

This guy...http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/61214/eron-harris ...could score and shoot, but still can't guard anyone, even in a phone booth, but Michigan State plays him 26 minutes a game and wins. As a matter of fact, he was the replacement for their best player when he was hurt and stepped in and picked up the scoring in his absence. But Yogi wouldn't play him because he couldn't guard or rebound...

I'm actually quite pleased with the b-ball team. We're 2 games better than I expected us to be (Kansas and at ISU). If we finish 3-2, we'll be 23-8 (12-6) heading into the Big 12 tournament. We haven't had that kind of record since the Final 4 season (2009-10: 24-6 13-5 in the BE; of course, we won the tournament that year which really helped our seed).
I don't think we have near the talent that team had but Huggins is doing a hell of a job coaching these guys and you never know. Barring a collapse down the stretch, we should get a good seed no matter how we do in the Big 12 tournament.
Even if we fall to a 5 seed we'd be favored up until the Sweet 16 (and possibly even that round) and if we can put a couple of just decent shooting nights back to back, who knows.

The best part for me about this season is that I had zero expectations that we'd be better than a marginal low seed.

I think at the tip off every game I think there is a chance we can win. If with 7 minutes in the first half I still have that feeling it's fun. We usually decide in that 2nd 10 minutes if we are gonna suck or not.
