Iowa State just fired Paul Rhodes. He will coach his final game for the Cyclones against WVU on Saturday.
This will probably be the first of 2 consecutive games where we play a team either firing their HC or their HC retiring. I'm not too thrilled for that, as now both teams will play with tremendous emotion.
Still, having said that...
Sat., Nov. 28 Iowa State 55-17 (W): If this game were in Ames, it would worry me more. Late November it would be windy as hell and probably snowing or something like that. But in Morgantown and with this team, we clobber the Cyclones! An early kick off return by Sheldon Gibby and a punt return by KJ Myers leave no doubt that WVU came to play!

I am trying to decide if I am going. One of y'all convince me that you're gonna come drink beer with me before the game.

I'm not going. I'm mildly curious as to whether ISU will lie down and die or rally for a proper sendoff of Rhoads. My curiosity can be sated from the comfort and warmth of my couch.
I'm leaning toward ISU has thrown in the towel for the year.

One of these days I'm going to party with you, Trad. I mean other than the fun times we've had at Drew's Memorial Golf Tournament.

We won. I watched on tv and listened to the stadium announcer through the window. The attendance appeared to be 20k. Paul Rhoads is dead.

Where are these seats you speak of? I've only ever seen metal benches.

I have a seat back. Well actually the guy in front of me does and he rarely attends and when he does he leaves early, so move it to my allotted space on the metal bleacher.

How do those work? Do you pay for it in advance and they put it on the seat ahead of time?

Yeah. They sit there all season. Its awesome, because the things generally get used for less than 18 hours per year, yet are left out in the weather for months.

Morgantown High band helps set up and take down the "permanent" seats, and they rent the temporary ones on game days. All part of their fundraising.

I like the seat backs. Especially the ones that I don't rent.

And if you had any kids still in school they could grow science experiments from sampling the temporary seats. They get piled into musty storage areas without being dried off after a weather game.

I wish you hadn't said that. I often sit my hot dogs on the empty seats nearby when I apply condiments.

I believe the way you protect yourself from disease is to expose yourself as often as possible. I once ate lunch at Ernie Leaks Bar and Grill which literally was a trailer sitting in the middle of Ernie Leaks Junkyard.
