First time I tried the sport at all since I was like 12 years old.
Just hit the driving range and knocked a couple buckets around...
a couple things:
1) i was, to my surprise, actually able to hit the ball 99% of the time. When I was younger and tried this, i couldn't even hit the damn ball, so it was nice
2) after I got a comfortable stance I wasn't doing too awful bad, and I started to actually enjoy the activity a bit
3) Didn't realize hitting 2 buckets of balls that quickly would leave me sore all over the next day. My right arm is killing me, my back is aching a bit, and my fingers are sore on every joint....
Overall though I think i'm gonna try to hit the range 2-3 times a week and hope to be ready to play a course this fall and at least play well enough that i'm not holding up the game by hitting a 14 ona par 3

You can sell a lot of insurance on golf outings.

I'll take it you wouldn't want to try shooting high-power.

I have decided to pick up golf as well. I think this is the wrong board for this thread, though, you chickenfucker.

I haven't had a chance to get the clubs out for two years now. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that my game stinks no matter how often I play.
I love golf though...

I love the game and beat the fuck out of both MDeer and bringthewood a week or so ago. You obviously drank way too much Turkey during that round!

I was keeping the score card...there was a 100% chance that I would win...regardless of the amount of bourbon I consumed.

Besides, you are the one who came home smelling of whiskey.

I love golf and Wild Turkey. Love to drink and drive!!!
The only thing that keeps me coming back to the golf course is knowing my name is not Tiger, Sergio, Phil... Otherwise, I'd have pitched my clubs into the nearest water hazard long ago.

MDeer should be willing to attest to the fact that the more I drank, the better I hit the ball. A bottle of Wild Turkey has recently become one of the most important pieces of golf equipment I own.

I can attest that that Hoss does play golf better when he is hammered. Not drinking...Not drunk....but hammered.
And to clarify....I did not go home smelling like Wild Turkey that night. I went to Morgantown to see Mike smelling like Wild Turkey. I wen't home smelling like Captain Morgan.
