Of sorts but not quite that much. Only preachers get that much. I actually spit water on my screen with that remark. What do you think my last name is...Bakker?

It is, indeed.
I spent at least a few minutes today staring at the patch of dirt that I may decide to turn into a tomato (etc?) garden.....a good first step, I think.
.....since its morgantown, I have to plan on some sort of snow (even if its just that wonderous phenomonon known as "thundersnow" that can happen as late as June) at any time....so I tend to wait later than most before putting plants in the ground outside.

Well, the garden's been plowed and tilled and the potatoes are in the ground. Planning on planting the onions and lettuce in the next two days if it dries up around here some.

Flowers growing well, lettuce, swiss chard, and spinach have sprouted.
Tomatoes go in next week or the week after. I've got just a small 8x8 plot.

Maters are in already we use those water walls to keep the frost off. Lettuce is doing well and the watermelon is starting to sprout.

It really needs to warm up and dry up a little around here. The lettuce is doing well, the onions are also doing well. We replanted the cabbage today, the half-runners and octobers are starting to come up, as well as the corn. Taters are doing well too...
Not time yet to plant any tomatoes around here. We still have the chance of frost yet!

Eating lettuce and swiss chard from garden. Tomato plants are not doing great, but they have blossoms. I expect squash blossoms any day. The spinach is about ready to pick, too.

I'm still getting tomatoes from my plants. Just ate one. My roses are still hanging on, too. I've covered the plants for the last three nights to avoid the frost. They do not have long to live, though.

Gonna keep mine going as long as I can. Usually, I get swiss chard through November, but this year a ground hog got into them.

I tilled up a nice patch and planted several things down at my mother's house in Charleston for her over the weekend. Tomatoes, Green Bell Peppers, Jalapeno Peppers, Broccoli, Squash, Assorted Herbs, um, some other stuff. I even planted some strawberries and a rose bush there for her.
I am going to go buy a tomato plant to grow in a pot here at my apartment in Morgantown... I already have potted here a jalepeno plant and a green pepper plant.
I ordered a couple of those upside down tomato plant holders for the hell of it, too...gonna see how that works out....the concept seems simple enough, but they were so cheap I figured I might as well just buy em.

Just remember, one usually gets what one pays for. If people have not been using them for many years, I would suspect that they probably will not work that well. But, for the price of them, we might be pleasantly surprised.
My flowers are doing pretty well. My roses have started to grow, as have my peonies. I had a hyacinth with dark purple flowers that was quite fragrant along the side of my house. My flocs and candy tufts all are in bloom. Unfortunately, I'm battling the dandelions right now, too.

Well, I figure that the price of the tomato topsy turvy thing is related to how simple it is. I think that it will work pretty well...as well as growing the plants right side up..... at least it will be interesting.
And, anyway, they had them buy one get one free...so it was like 20 bucks for two, so I ordered em and will see how it works.
