Georgetown won the NIT a couple years ago.
A good sign of things to come?

Nope...beat the Ville, and we are playing for the real money.

But...what if we did lose to the Cards and miss the Tourney and end up playing in the NIT Championship game against BAMA.
War Damn Eagle!

and if we lose to the Ville, think we still go to the NCAA's?
Granted I want us to win every game possible, I just have a feeling about tonight. Of course I had the same feeling about Georgia before the Sugar Bowl

Nope, I honestly doubt we make it.
Especially if there are any mid level conference upsets.

So from what I hear, there's no tv for this sucker. And if we win, the next game is on ESPNU

I have Comcast and I've been pretty satisfied with their service so far. It blows that they don't have ESPNU though.
It pissed me off because I watched the NIT selection show (where they showed more clips of teams that are in the NCAA tourney than the NIT) and they talked to the head honcho (Don Devo or something?) for the NIT tourney. He said that they were trying to be more prestigious and some other bs, by taking the teams down to 32 and upping the criteria for the selection process. Do you want to know how to make it better, Don? Show the games on freakin' TV!

I guess there just isn't enough interest? I thought the NIT was televised in previous years, but maybe they are too busy with AFL and NASCAR programming this year.

Doesn't ESPN own a part of the AFL now?

Making the NIT is a very prestigious accomplishment for our team. We were much to young to be allowed to expect to do any better. This is all we had a right to expect.

Before the year if you had said we were the last team left out of the tourney I would have called bs, we are NIT bound all the way. Keller wrote a good article on the selection story.scout.com/a.z?s=159&p=2&c=626197

Keller wrote a good article on the selection story.scout.com/a.z?s=159&p=2&c=626197Eh, this team was more than capable of making the NCAA's, and failing to do is just that: a failure. It is not a "well good for them" type of accomplishment. It is a let down from their potential. It is rationalizing failure to say that we had no right to expect more from this team. Whatever one expected and whenever one expected it, this team was more than able to make the NCAA Tourney if it had played to its potential. Also, I cant read the drivel from that website. The writing is much too unsophisticated and trite.... it hurts the brain to try to sort through their poor syntax.....and they never have anything new or worthwhile to say. If that article is an exception, I apologize for not reading it.

Yeah, this tourney is the little sister version, but if we're in it we might as well win it. And Matt's definitely having his period this week.
