I really like the filter...it may be the best filter yet.
I remember when the Razor came out and mine went haywire and they made me send the thing back to ATT to be replaced. I threw such a fit in the ATT store. I was saying (practically yelling) that ATT just wants you to come in and buy a phone, they dont five a shit about you once you sign the contract. This was about the same time that numbers became portable, and all the companies were fighting it out for contracts. Anyway, I made such a scene that the manager took his phone out of his pocket and put my sim card in it and told me that if I really needed a phone while a new one was being sent to me, I could use his. I am sure he thought I would say no thanks. But I looked in him the eye, and said, thats the first honest thing that they have ever done, and took his phone. I could see the disbelief on his face as I yelled thanks as I walked out of the building. Two mornings later my new phone came and I took the dude his phone back.
I briefly thought about using the camera to take pictures of all my friends, or maybe my wiener or something...actually if I wasnt afflicted with the Irish curse and had a big wiener, I would have done that.
When I took it back, when I told him that I would tell all of my colleagues about the great personal service I got and that they gave me the phone out of their own pocket...the manager asked me not to...

Eric Gustufson with Apple Corporate Customer Service in Galvolston does his job well. Apparntly, when there is water damageto a phone, they take pictures of the litmus and upload the pics onto the repaire file. Coincidently enough, Eric couldn't upload those pictures. I said "Eric, your own 'evidence doesn't even exist, so I guess the damage never happened.'. He agreed and tefunded my money. He appoligizes and said I hope your not too upset with the situation.
I said 'Eric, I've lost about 3 hours of billable time over this. That's more than $600 I lost over Apples incompetency and people giving me the run around. Plus. I have this replacement phone that doesn't work and I'm going to have to go through this all again in 2 weeks so, no, I'm not satisfied'. He asked what would satify me.
So, I'll be getting one of the new 32g video phones when I return this one.

Man....all the fun I miss for not having a smart phone. All my cheap ass does is make phone calls and send texts. We just recently upgraded our phones for 20 bucks to a full keyboard and an internet-lite "Easyedge" thingie from US Cellular. It does news, sports, weather, my e-mail, and Facebook. I'm content.
My company is threatening to buy Crackberries for certain areas, which would end up tethering us to the office 24/7. No thanks.

Those stupid things are taking over the world. My daughter lovers her iPhone.
I have ordered a new digitizer screen for the one she broke when we are on vacation and am going to try to replace it. If I can make it work, I guess my wife will leave the blackberry world also.
I love my blackberry, mostly because the damn thing is indestructible. Plus, the little browsing I wanna do on my phone works fine with my BB. I think I will probably upgrade to the new qwerty keyboard BB that is 3G and wifi capable, but that is really the only change I will make.
That is what I really hate about the iPhone is that stupid touch screen. I like being able to text and type under a table without looking. Having those keys makes it nice.

Once I get used to it, I don't see any reason I won't be able to type without looking. It is annoying that you don't seem to be able to go back and put your cursor in a specific place on a text message if you make a mistake. That would be better.
The battery doesn't last too long either, but I think that has more to do with me constantly playing around with it. I figure in a couple weeks once I get used to it and keep it in my pocket like a normal phone, the battery will start lasting a little longer.

I am not sure what my Blackberry Curve with the keyboard and wifi and all of that doesnt do that I could get from an iphone....that I would actually use.
I know a lot of people use a lot of craziness on those iphones, and thats cool...but I think that I have Finau-ly upgraded so far that its not that I dont understand how to use more technology, I just really wouldnt use it. ...I barely use all of what this blackberry is capable of doing....calls and texts and emails and web browsing. I do use the Pandora and I Heart Radio Apps every now and then, but thats about it. ....battery lasts for hours.
Anyway, I still think I am not nearly cool enough to own an IPhone.

I think it's the "that I would actually use" part that makes it worth it for some people and not worth it for others.

Yeah, I will five you advice after I do it. I ordered the screen. It is fairly complicated thing to do, but if you do it, it can be done for like $20 bucks.
I have watched a couple of videos on it, and am fairly convinced I could do it.
I use the shit out of my blackberry. Anyone that knows me knows that I am on it all day. I probably get 50-75 emails that I read a day, plus the texts from my family, plus most of my calls are on my cell, plus I occasionally read this page on my phone and post from my phone. I usually charge my phone every other day.

i was a long time advocarte of the blackberry...I have used them since the green screen days...I just switched service to sprint and got a palm pre...that is a pretty nice phone...has the full keyboard like the berry, and a lot of the same touch screen capabilities/gestures as the iphone. There is a budding developement community so I have a lot of apps as well. The best thing going to sprint...true unlimited family service for like $140...and all calls to any mobile phone, regardless of carrier...is free.

I was thinking about getting a Pre, since I had been a Sprint customer for ten years. My first cell phone was with Sprint. It's a pretty neat phone. I decided to go with the iPhone for two reasons. First, Sprint doesn't have 3G here yet, and all they would say is "We're getting it soon." Second, when I called Sprint to tell them I was planning on canceling unless they would let me keep my current plan (with the Pre they make you switch to a new set of plans, you can't rollover your old plan like you can with their other phones), they basically said, "Nope, sorry, see you later." So that was it for Sprint.

I guess I won, but now I'm pissed because I wanted a little something extra from those fags explain how you won? well, I guess I didn't have to pay for the supposed "water damage" that they thought they found, which would have disqualified my warranty and made me pay $200 plus tax. I won!! I was going for a little customer appreciation upgrade, which I guess they don't appreciate me that much

I like the Iphone even after my most recent debacle. The replacement phone they sent "freezes" about every 7 hours and needs hard rebooted a couple times during the day. This is why I was arguing for the upgrad with the last Cust. Rep/, because I need to send the new one back and I told him I don't want another refurbished phone. Didn't work...oh well.
All that aside, I really think the Iphone is the best phone i've ever owned. I had one of the original Blackberrys (blue and looked like a small handheld computer), one of the new Blackberry pulse (which like all BB are great for email), 3 Treos (2 650s and 1 750) and a HTC Hermes (which was great because it was all Microsoft based so everything had office and outlook). it was great with the hopeful software, but wasn't great for anything. they don't even make them anymore...I think they did the "tilt" for about 3 month and nobody bought them either.
Then I bough my Iphone. The email is perfect for me...not to detailed and not too worrysome. As much as I travel locally, the Mapquest App is great. Plus, Ive bought apps for playing golf, games and other shit that I use daily (Shahzaam...wich tells you what song is playin, FML and the Movie Theater app which I use everyweek). I also use it when out of the house or office to get on teh internet. It truly is the best phone I've had, and the first was perfect until a month ago, but now I'm a bit suspect after my most recent dealings.
Thats why I told Nick that I love the Iphone and, as technology manager for my firm, I've suggested that all 10 attorneys turn in their Iphones. that set him back a bit, but didn't get me the free upgrade.

Golfshot GPS.
I also have the Golf Logixs one, but I like the golfshot one better. Just be sure that you look to be sure that the course you play most often is on there. My Country Club is on both, but we have reciprocity with another club in Charleston and it isn't on either.

When I am talking to someone...MDeer included...and I get that random, mid-call, odd busy signal for a few seconds, then silence...I know I am talking to someone on an iPhone.
I was going to get me a new blackberry, I have had the one in my pocket for a couple of years now. I was looking at one of the newer 3G BBs, and started doing research and found that the newer one isnt thought of as durable as the Curve I have. This thing never freezes, and does everything I need it to do - which is email, phone, calendar and a the occasional internet use.
I have a few songs loaded on it, but I have a 5 year old 40gb ipod that I love. It has like 10,000 songs or something on it...I carry that thing with me everywhere. It died about 2 weeks ago, and I ordered a new battery for it for like $9 including shipping. I took it apart and replaced the battery. So it looks like I am good to go again for a while.
I like keeping shit for a long time.

I have a love/hate relationship with my IPhone. I love the fact that it does everything I need and has a nice web browser. I pretty much hate everything else about it, including battery life, speaker phone, phone consistency, etc.
If I had paid for it or was paying my own service and data bill, I probably would have gotten rid of it a long time ago and switched to Verizon or Sprint
