The greatest tennis tournament of the year starts August 28th. The field is wide open this year. Should be a great event!

Since I know y'all haven't been keeping up with the greatest tennis tournament of the year, I'll let you know what y'all are missing...
Men's Draw...The draw is basically down to what looks like a Roger Federer vs Rafael Nafal semi-final clash. The other semi-final is 2 no-name players who I don't care about. Look for the Federer/Rafa winner to be the champion.
Women's Draw...It's an all-American semi-finals for the first time since 1981! With CoCo Vandewegh taking on Madison Keys & Sloane Stephens taking on Venus Williams. My money is on Venus & Madison making it to the finals but don't count CoCo out! It's going to be a great weekend of tennis!

I actually watched the latter portion of the del Potro / Federer match. Federer sucks.

CoCo? How does she play tennis with those major league yabbos? And yes, I curse the long dead corpse of The Soup for making me know who this is.

Great match last night in which Novak Djokovic fought through a shoulder injury to move on to the 3rd round in the US Open. This is by far the best tennis tournament!

I occasionally find myself watching beautiful but sweaty Russian girls grunting. Then I realize this is not porn - Dammit I was duped into watching tennis. At that point I come to my senses, pull up my pants, apologize to others in the room, and find a sport to watch on TV.

This year's US Open didn't disappoint! The results are as follows...
Canada's Bianca Andreescu foiled Serena Williams bid for her 24th Grand Slam title (which would've tied the 46-year-old record held by Margaret Court), defeating Serena in straight sets 6-3, 7-5. We can only now look forward to the Australian Open in January to see if Serena can tie the record.
On the Men's side, it was an epic 5-set match between Russian Daniil Medvedev (who was booed vociferously all tournament by the NY crowd) and Rafael Nadal. Nadal jumped out to an early 2-set lead, only to see Medvedev rally and take the 3rd and 4th sets, leading to the exciting 5th and final set. Medvedev wanted to play fast and was keeping Nadal off balance until Nadal started "stalling" and making Medvedev play slower. It worked and Nadal won the final set and the match: 7-5, 6-3, 5-7, 4-6, 6-4
Now, we wait for January to arrive and the Australian Open!
