I just hope that as a group we do better than last year. We really sucked as I recall.

Well I said all season the Big 12 was overrated, but I didn't think it was that overrated. 1st round losses to UAB and Ga. St!! Maybe Texas can come back against Butler and get us an upset.

I remember posting on here at the end of out of conference play that it seemed like the Big 12 kind of sucked and wasn't worthy o the praise it was getting. Then we started to "beat each other up" SEC style and I bought the hype. I'm just a stupid sports fan like everybody else.

If anyone was ever curious as to why Randy doesn't gamble or anything like that, just look at my performance in picking the NCAA Basketball Bracket year over year...I think a dead, blind woman could do better than I do.

My only consolation is that I got our region 100% correct. Maybe that bodes well for our weekend.

Can you do that after the tourney starts?

Well, had a good first day. As recall, I did pretty well in the first round last year though, then it went to Hell.

Its interesting that chalk is in the 92nd percentile.

It only ended up at 77.6% last year. It should always do well above median, but the earlier rounds with more "mismatches" is when it should really kick ass.
People get no bump over chalk when they make the same picks; only the correct upset picks help and wrong ones hurt. The number of people who have more correct upset picks than incorrect ones is almost always going to be less than 50%. That would be true even if you didn't have millions of people just basically picking them at random or for irrational reasons.

The perfect bracket games.espn.go.com/tournament-challenge-bracket/2015/en/entry?entryID=4932920 You can't really calculate the probability on this because it's not random selection but if it was random it would be 2³². My calculator tells me that's a one in 2,147,483,648 chance. You'd have to have a ton of data and do all sorts of fancy regressions to come up with valid assumptions on which to base an estimate of the "real world" odds of pulling that off.

Randy is best positioned for now with the most potential points remaining, and with all Final four candidates intact.

The way ESPN is showing your picks versus actual results is a huge turd. I can't tell who is even playing in the games after I picked wrong.

My only consolation is that I got our region 100% correct. Maybe that bodes well for our weekend. I've still got our region as the only one in my bracket without blemishes. Hopefully this doesn't indicate our chances this weekend.

Randy is best positioned for now with the most potential points remaining, and with all Final four candidates intact. Today is most likely my make-or-break day in this Tournament. I have Wisconsin winning it all and they have a tough matchup with Arizona today. If Wisconsin loses today, my bracket goes up in flames. I realize they will have to play Kentucky in the Final Four if they win today, but I feel that they are the only team that has enough size to compete with Kentucky. I'd really like to see Kentucky have to actually PLAY for both halves in a close game to see what they really have...

Well the big game is to...
Fuck it, I'm not even pretending anymore.
My former boss is a UK grad tho. When they showed the crying kentucky boy at the end of the game I took a picture of my tv screen and pretended to show him some Easter pictures of my family and - oh...whoops...what's was that? Oh yeah that's the Kentucky boy crying.
I do hate Duke tho.

Randy Kenny wins. Nobody picked Duke to win the championship, which I feel says more about our collective loathing of Duke than our collective basketball knowledge.
